Role Overview 

Apollo Green Solutions develops and deploys edge IoT devices at industrial and commercial energy management sites. The Edge Developer Intern will work on the edge device stack including the local portal, service orchestration, and build tooling. 

How This Role Fits the Team 

The Edge Developer works closely with the IoT engineering team. The role sits at the intersection of embedded Linux, backend services in Go, and the operator-facing portal UI in HTML and CSS.

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain the edge device local web portal built in Go, HTML, and CSS. 
  • Write and maintain Go services that serve live device data to the portal. 
  • Build and maintain Docker containers and docker-compose configurations for edge device services. 
  • Write Bash scripts for device setup, automation, and health checks. 
  • Work with the OS image build tooling based on debos and Debian Linux. 
  • Test and validate services running on embedded Linux devices. 
  • Document edge device architecture, service configurations, and setup procedures.

Required Skills 

  • Go for writing HTTP servers
  • Linux command line : Debian, systemd, SSH, file system navigation. 
  • Bash scripting for setup automation, health checks, and build tooling. 
  • Docker and docker-compose
  • HTML and CSS for building clean operator-facing portal UI pages. 
  • Git and GitHub for version control. 
  • Basic networking: TCP/IP, HTTP, ports, and service exposure.
