Catalyst 2030 is seeking a Systems Learning Coordinator

Launched at the World Economic Forum in January 2020, Catalyst 2030 is a global community of social entrepreneurs, funders and other social change innovators who believe collaborative action and bold, new strategies are needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

About the Systems Learning Team

Catalyst 2030 offers employees the opportunity to work with young people from a variety of different countries and to challenge themselves within the context of a vibrant and growing organisation. The ideal candidate has graduated with a background in international relations/affairs, international development, social sciences, marketing or similar, with ideally 1-3 years’ experience.

The Systems Change Learning team was established to stimulate an on-going evolution of a learning ecosystem from, and for, social innovators. Our primary goal is to provide rich opportunities for shared learning and create a collective learning community to inform best practices. The team works with social entrepreneurs and innovators alongside government, civil society and academics to shift the dominant culture and paradigm in order to enable structural and systemic change.

Given the complexity of systems change, the team brings together academics and social entrepreneurs to promote a sustainable culture of systems change, while advancing research, informing curricular offerings, and influencing practice, education and policies. To learn how to achieve this change, the systems learning group develops Systems Learning Series focusing on diverse topics, builds the Catalyst Academy certification programme, undertakes research in the field and curates resources.

Role/Responsibilities

• Support the fifth pillar of Catalyst 2030, the Systems Learning pillar, to meet the growing needs of the Catalyst 2030 community
• Identifying and cultivating partnerships and relationships for the creation of learning opportunities for members and supervise the implementation of the learning series
• Supporting the implementation strategy of the Catalyst Academy certification programme, assisting with the development of content modules, identifying speakers and recruiting participants for the academy
• Building relationships with academics and knowledge resource creators on social entrepreneur learning and identifying opportunities to share that learning through online series, Catalyst Academy and/or Social Change Innovators’ online resources
• Partnering with, and supporting working groups and network members to organise member learning opportunities, develop research and knowledge
• Assisting with the development of the learning of the sector to influence social entrepreneur practice and education. Supporting the work of members through academic publications, practitioner reports, stories of social entrepreneurs to translate action into theory and amplify the systems change movement
• Supervising and train three interns who rotate every six months to implement our system learning series, Catalyst Academy, Academic Hubs, working groups and collaborations between member groups
• Enable regular meetings with other Catalyst 2030 departments to encourage consistent and extensive cross-collaboration between departments
• Coordinate the team’s monthly reporting and deliverable implementation tracking and assist with thinking strategically about the department and our role within the Catalyst community
• Work closely with the team in planning, organising and coordinating strategic engagement at international conferences and events
• Other duties as required

Requirements

As a member of the Systems Learning Team, the ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, innovative thinker, who can work independently to oversee project implementation and is a successful collaborator adept at understanding systems thinking, interested in research, and able to complete departmental reporting and progress updates. The candidate is confident, proactive, has 1-3+ years of professional experience and is able to connect with diverse partners and teams during a rapid growth period.

The team member embodies the values of Catalyst 2030 to their core, in particular through empowering the diverse voices and communities representing Catalyst 2030. This role requires a passionate professional with the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders in the Catalyst 2030 network, including working groups, academics, researchers and social innovators to work towards common goals. This role will report to the Systems Learning facilitator.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree, preferably in business, international development, social sciences, nonprofit management or a related field
• 1-3 years professional experience in relevant fields
• Knowledgeable and passionate about social innovation research, learning resources and academic research
• Able to work with colleagues to support systems level change
• Excellent written and verbal communications and English language skills with the ability to collaborate with a broad and diverse set of partners from government to civil society, from international organisations to educators at the higher education and tertiary levels
• Technically savvy and able to learn to coordinate between several technology tools and platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce and other platforms
